We’ve just received our Dawes Double Edge back from repair and, over the years, this has been a better luck than judgment exercise. The problem with owning and maintaining a tandem is their length and most cycle shops won’t entertain them due to the space they take up in the workshop. The only business that came back to me was Hix Cycles in Peterborough.
So in went my tandem, with shot brakes, loose chain, sticking gears, wobbly mudguards etc… Out came my tandem with new chain, new seat post, new hydraulic front brake, new front hub, redished front wheel. The attention to detail was astounding. My tandem is riding better than the day it came out of the box so I thought I would share my lucky find.

Great service, quick, helpful and informative, he fixed numerous niggling problems on my bike with no fuss. He even sorted an on-going issue I had with the front brake calliper and gear cables, which was causing me gear change issues. Thanks Graham. |

Wheelchair repair services
Sending my electric wheelchair back to the manufacturer for minor repairs was becoming prohibitively expensive and having searched for somewhere local to repair a spoke and true a wheel, only to find no one would touch one with an electric motor integrated in the wheel hub, even local mobility repairers declined. Then a friend suggested I try finding somewhere that trued motorbike wheels. So a quick Google search and up popped the Cycle surgery.
From the prompt rely to my initial email enquiry, the exceptional personal service received, plus of course a first class repair at an affordable price, I can only say you are now my “go to guy” for any future repairs. For repairs to punctured tyres, broken spokes or truing of buckled wheels I am happy to sing your praises to all wheelchair users in the area.
